SPORO in a nutshell

Circular and local
We produce circular substrate for exotic and functional mushrooms using local urban waste streams. Our main ingredients are coffee grounds, brewer's grains and wood residues. We turn waste into ingredients for local food while reducing transport kilometres and emissions.
Innovative
SPORO uses an innovative, energy-efficient sterilisation method that uses at least 30% less energy than conventional methods. We have also automated a large part of our process. This way, we can deliver high quality substrates at low prices.
Impact-driven
At SPORO, our environmental and social impact comes first. We are building a circular system in which residual streams are converted into sustainable raw materials locally and with social impact. After all, we believe that impact only counts when people and materials are valued.
